The useful question is where the manufacturer’s responsibility ends. Does it stop after whole tires become rough shreds? Can the same supplier liberate bead and belt steel? One common purchasing mistake is to start with the shredder horsepower and work forward. We normally do the opposite: start with the saleable rubber product, work backward through separation and size reduction, then size the primary shredder so it feeds the downstream stages without starving or flooding them. The double shaft shredder is often the front-end workhorse for whole tires, but it is only one part of the line.

A Better RFQ Produces a Better Manufacturer Comparison

“Please quote a 5 T/H tire recycling plant” is not enough information. Two suppliers can both answer that request and be quoting completely different plants. One may assume passenger tires, another truck tires. One may stop at 50 mm chips, another may include granulation to 3 mm. One may state inlet capacity while another guarantees saleable product after recirculation and screening.
A useful RFQ gives every supplier the same engineering target. Start with the feed: tire categories, realistic mix, maximum diameter and width, whether beads are removed, and representative photos or video. Then state the product in measurable terms. “Crumb rubber” is vague; “1–4 mm accepted fraction with agreed residual steel and textile limits” is much better.

A fair quotation comparison starts with the same feed, product, capacity, quality, site and commercial scope.
Capacity also needs a definition. Ask whether the stated tons per hour refers to feed entering the line, accepted product leaving the system, or an ideal test with one tire type. If oversize circulates back through a granulator, internal machine load can be much higher than net finished output. This is one reason simply comparing installed motor power can be misleading.
Finally, put the commercial boundary beside the process boundary. Factory acceptance testing, installation supervision, commissioning, operator training, spare knives, screens, bearings, dust filters, electrical cabinets, platforms and overseas travel can shift the project price materially. The best manufacturer comparison is the one that leaves as little as possible hidden in the phrase “optional equipment.”
